Skills
I have experienced working with students who have diverse learning needs, including both high achievers and those requiring additional support, as well as students with conditions such as ADHD, who may exhibit withdrawn behavior or display disruptive conduct. I utilize differentiated instruction by offering a variety of activities tailored to different learning styles: visual learners benefit from charts, diagrams, and photos; auditory learners engage through discussions and video presentations; and kinesthetic learners thrive with hands-on activities. I also integrate technology in meaningful ways to enhance learning. Additionally, I create intervention plans for students who require individualized instruction.
About
I am a versatile facilitator of learning who began my teaching journey as a Christian Living Education and a Science teacher at a private Catholic institution. Throughout my career, I have taught various subjects, including Reading, English Language Arts, Science, Homeroom Guidance, Mathematics and Social Studies across grade levels. I am deeply passionate about social outreach and have volunteered in areas where access to education is a significant challenge.
I strongly advocate for education for all, regardless of economic status, and I am always ready to take on any assignments and tasks in the school community. I believe that every assignment/position is an opportunity for professional growth and an avenue to serve. Therefore, I embrace every challenge presented to me from being a subject coordinator, campus minister, prefect of discipline, assistant principal for academics and became a school principal for two years on top of my teaching load. I am also a proponent of a technology-driven classroom, which led me to participate in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Convention in Denver, Colorado, in June 2024. Throughout my teaching career, I have had the privilege of facilitating the learning of diverse student populations, which has deepened my understanding of various learning styles and cultural backgrounds. I believe that fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment is essential for student success. My goal is to design lessons not only based on state standards, and tailored to their individual needs, but also enjoyable and meaningful to my students' lives. I prioritize building strong relationships with my students, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and happy in my class. I believe that all students should have equal opportunities to shine and develop their potential for success.
