About
I am a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teacher with more than 30 years of experience teaching and mentoring young learners from Kindergarten to Grade 3. Throughout my teaching career, I have focused on creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages children to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
I hold a Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education and a Bachelor of Education (ECDE). I also earned a P1 Teaching Certificate from Meru Teachers Training College. My professional training and extensive classroom experience have equipped me with strong skills in lesson planning, classroom management, curriculum development, and student assessment.
For most of my career, I served as a Senior Teacher at Ntuene Primary School in Meru County, Kenya, where I taught for over three decades until my retirement in August 2023. In this role, I developed and implemented age-appropriate lesson plans, monitored student progress, provided guidance and counseling, and mentored newly recruited teachers. I also participated in school administration and helped organize co-curricular activities that enriched student learning.
Some of my achievements include serving as a Drama Patron, where I guided students to participate successfully in the Kenya National Drama and Film Festival, and as a Debate Coach, where I prepared students for the Kenya National Debate Council Championships. These activities helped students develop confidence, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have strong leadership and mentorship skills. I have worked closely with parents, school administrators, and community members to support students’ overall development. I am fluent in English, Kiswahili, and Kimeru, which allows me to communicate effectively with diverse learners and communities.
I am committed to lifelong learning and professional growth, and I am eager to bring my experience, dedication, and passion for early childhood education to an international teaching environment where I can continue to support and inspire young learners.
