About
My name is Aimee Rose A. Soriano, EdD, a Filipino educator currently living and teaching in Thailand. I am writing to express my strong interest in the Cultural Vistas Teach USA J-1 Teacher Exchange Program and to inquire about my eligibility and the appropriate next steps to pursue a teaching position in the United States.
I have more than 10 years of teaching and educational experience in Thailand and the Philippines. I am currently working as an English Teacher and Head of Foreign Teachers at Chumphaesuksa School in Thailand. I have also taught Social Studies, English, Science, and Health through an English Program, as well as English to secondary, vocational, and university students.
My academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies, a Master of Education in Educational Management, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Management. I also hold a valid Thai Teacher’s License and TEFL/TESOL certification.
My primary teaching interests are Secondary Social Studies, History, Humanities, English, and ESL. I am particularly interested in opportunities where I can contribute my international teaching experience while sharing Filipino and Southeast Asian perspectives with U.S. students and school communities.
I have attached my updated curriculum vitae for your review. I would greatly appreciate it if you could advise me whether my qualifications meet the current Teach USA J-1 Teacher requirements and what I should do next to become eligible for sponsorship and connect with potential U.S. K–12 schools.
I understand that Cultural Vistas is a U.S. Department of State-designated J-1 sponsor and that a formal teaching position with an eligible U.S. school is required for the sponsorship process. I am prepared to provide my academic records, employment verification, teaching license, credential evaluation, and other required documents.
