About
I am a dynamic, dedicated, results-driven Chemist teacher with 16years of teaching experience. I have taught three different levels of education here in Ghana. I have engaged Primary, Junior High and now Senior High School, Teaching Chemistry. Currently, I am comfortable glue to the teaching of Chemistry at the Senior High School; Effiduase Senior High/Commercial School. I teach, prepare solutions for practical works, and set the chemistry laboratory for both internal and external examination.
As an experienced chemist teacher, I am endowed with strong communication skills emanating from continuous engagement with my students, parents, colleagues-teachers and my supervisors. Couple with this ability is my strong effective classroom management practices/skills; Fairly distributions of teaching aids, grouping of students according their abilities, instilling of discipline, properly sitting arrangement practices and the use of rewards and punishment to create conducive environment for learning. Another area of my strongest potential is my leadership, organizational and team work capabilities. I coordinate, collaborate and organized, the activities of the chemistry lab with my colleagues as a senior tuitor.
My motivation to joining profession is to encourage and offer equal opportunities to every student, irrespective of Social, Political and Economic background in learning chemistry (Science) in line with my teaching philosophy; ‘‘ that student learn best if they are given the opportunity to asked and express themselves in the classroom irrespective of their social, cultural, economic, political and religious background’’
ACHIVEMENTS:
Successfully Preparing Students to write their external Examination
Every year; From 2014 -2025, I lead my team in preparing students to write both Chemistry practical (WAEC) Examination and written chemistry paper . And the results have been phenomena. In 2014, as form-3 class teacher, my school registered 32 students to write their final exams and none of them had F_9 however, students have degrees of grades fromB_2, B_3, C_4 to C_6. We have had students performances improving year by year and ours student performing tremendously at various tertiary institutions.
Mentorship
From 2014 – 2025, I have been receiving students from University of Education; Winneba and Cape Coast who choose our school to do their intention ship programme. I took them through classroom management, class control, chalk/marker board management, presentation of content and pedagogy, assessment of student on both formative and summative.
I also mentor my students on career opportunities choices, general study strategies and behaviourial difficulties and others.
Strong Leadership
I have been heading the chemistry department from 2014 till date. I do discuss students’ performance with my colleagues and how to improve their performances. I have been spearheading how to take-care of chemicals in the school lab. That is, how to monitor and remove expire chemicals and how to buy new one to replace used and expires ones. I am also involved in preparing budget for purchasing of new chemicals and above all, I lead my colleagues in setting the chemistry lab for WAEC examination
